You want to hear something horrifying? In his final attack at Milan-San Remo, after a whole day in the breakaway, Fabian Cancellara generated around 800 watts for two whole minutes. Jesus.

I don't know what that means, but I'm pretty sure it's fast. Right?

Is that some sort of bionic implant in his left quad?

When I had a power meter, I found that my LT threshold was 300-320 watts. That was the average watts I'd put out for my fastest TTs. When I'd go on an attack, I'd sometimes see mid 400s, maybe a 500 watt reading.

800 watts for 2 minutes is INSANE!! For the Prologue of the '07 Tour of Cali, Ben Jaques-Maynes said in an interview that he put out seven hundred-some watts for the 5 minutes of uphill TT effort. Again, absolutely insane. But I guess if your job requires you to put the power to the pedals, that's what you gotta do.

Top sprinters generate power spikes of over 2,000 watts for a few hundred meters.

Holy shit.

You know what else we need, other than a race report? A recap of your Wednesday night adventure. How can you further your case as Omaha's unluckiest rider without proof of your escapades?
